We did end up flying a private charter with Paradise Air from Quepos to Belize City (with one stop to clear customs in Costa Rica) and have nothing but great things to say about them. Art (the owner) and Roxie (his office manager) were incredibly responsive to all of our stupid logistical and safety questions during the planning of the trip. Our two pilots were extremely professional, inspired confidence every step of the way, and were very nice guys on top of it all. I don't know how many miles the plane had on it, but it seemed to be in absolute top-notch condition, and was configured specifically for our flight, with only two passenger seats and the remaining space for leg room and baggage. There were fresh flowers tucked into the seat pockets, a cooler full of beverages and snacks, and a nice selection of magazines. I should say that we did manage to luck out with near-perfect flying conditions (some large clouds, but very little turbulence). It's not a trip I'd want to do in bad weather (nor do I think Paradise would fly in in such weather). But, the travel gods were with us, and all-in-all it was a great flight over some beautiful scenery that effectively added a day of leisure time to our honeymoon. We would definitely fly with Paradise again.

We decided to charter with Paradise Air because they said they could carry surfboards and that they didn't have dumb baggage weight restrictions that would prevent the three of us from taking our boards and bags like Nature Air told us. Roxana from the reservations was very informative, spoke great English and told us as long as we didn't go over the max weight limit we could take what we needed to. The trip was fantastic and our boards made it with us. New planes and a really professional pilot will make this our choice for charter when we do it again.
